Why Remember The Apps & Tech That Shaped you?

Shaping of Personality, Career Discovering, & Life Before AI

Over time, the digital technology we use has
changed our personalities and identities. Years ago
almost everyone carried a map everywhere, now our
entire world exists inside a phone. I grew up
without AI but I still had a good amount
of technology around me. Things like iPods,
early iPhones and simple online games shaped
so much of my experience as a kid.

A lot of the design apps I randomly stumbled
onto when I was younger grew into the reason
I want to pursue design as a career. Without
those apps that encouraged creativity, connection and
a sense of digital culture, I would not
be the person I am now. I also think
it is important to remember the internet jokes
and memes that shaped my humour. Whenever I
reference a Vine joke and someone actually understands
it, it feels like finding a hidden treasure.
Digital culture is woven into our lives in
ways we barely notice.

This section is my way of celebrating the
digital world that raised me and giving credit
to the content creators who built the online
spaces I grew up in. Before AI and
algorithms, most digital media was made completely by
humans and that human touch played a big
part in shaping my identity.
