When we are young, going to the movies
feels like an excuse to eat popcorn and
sit in a dark room with our friends
or family. As you grow up, you start
to realize that the movies and shows
you loved were teaching you things without you
noticing. They had messages, little signs, and
meanings that shaped the way you see the
world. My friends always joke that they
can tell if someone grew up watching Spongebob
just by the jokes they make. That
is how powerful the movies and shows we
watch really are.
Growing up in a family, the shows and
movies you share also become a connection point.
It becomes less about what you watched and
more about the people you watched it with.
The laughter, the inside jokes, and the
comfort of watching your favourites together become the
real memory. These moments stay with you long
after the credits roll.
I think it is important to remember and
sometimes rewatch the movies and shows we loved
when we were younger. They keep us grounded
and let us revisit certain times in our
lives. They also let us pay tribute to
the people who created these stories. These creators
made work that connected strangers, influenced entire generations,
and gave us characters and moments that still
matter today.
